  1. Jindarat is a joke, more like a nursery, not a real school. I've been there for 1 month.
The Thai English "teachers" have nothing to do with teaching... in fact they can't even speak English.
Some of the teachers are rude, they speak about the farang teachers bad (in their presence). Some of them (we still meet occasionally) don't even answer or look at me when I sawatdii them or even wai.
The school is so poor that the teachers must buy their own markers; that and the white board are the only materials that the teachers will have to help him teaching.
It is against the school rules to go outside during work, so you are obliged to eat their 'free' food.
And, yes... nobody speak English except the director, which is also the owner and, if you'll have any problems you must solve them yourself because she's almost never there.
The Thai assistant teacher will not come to your class, living the farang teachers alone. 99% of the kids are even worst than the regular Thai pupils - most of them are to spoiled and rude... I know, they're just kids, but still when the teacher says 'sit down', I think they should sit and not stand on tables :)
... and this happened from the first day to the last of my teaching month there. In the end they hired a much cheaper Filipino teacher and they fired me but, interesting thing, they moved me to probably ALL CLASSES to teach a few hours and they specifically told the students exactly this:
"Tell your parents at home that you have handsome farang teacher!" - how about this for advertising?! ... I understand Thai but sometimes I wish don't. It's amazing what's hiding behind some of the fake smiles. I'm not generalizing, of course.
Anyway, conclusion is: I won't go there for 100000THB/month; maybe not even for 1 mil.

  2. Lopburi are not Bangkok. I m a Thai person who is not good that much in English. let's u understand something. many student here.they don't meet that much any farang like in the big city and they are very shy for see your eye and even speak English. they are not use to it.
If you came to be the teacher. teacher must know and try how to make student be speak and try to learn lanquage. I was in school with farang teacher and he made we sing a song as i can remember that i still can sing that song till today!
OK. i understand nobody here talk and be friend with you. coz they cant speak english good.
our smile mean many thing. even i can't do anything then i just smile. it 's culture. or you would like to see us have angry face and seriouse face to show we are not feel comfort to speak english but we try to make you feel more convince.
Are you a teacher? event poor student they teach them. that the way of teacher. Heart of teacher.

    1. Nan, you're answering to me (I think) like I'm some sort of new comers here, not knowing anything about Thailand. I do live here, I have friends in a lot of places and I know about Thai culture - but I don't like everything about Thai culture and I'll ALWAYS say the truth (unlike the Thais).
Therefore, Jindarat is still not a school, they're a joke. In fact their sweet director (forgot her name) still owes me 10000THB and I know she'll not give them to me because it's been already 4 months.
You trying to protect someone you don't know anything about and I'm just writing what I know about them.
As for the Piboon, I'd avoid them, too. This is a much better school and from the Thai standards it's a great school - but they, too, don't pay in time and they, too, "forgot" to pay me 15000THB.

  3. Anyway, thanks the writer for the info. I see the article is a little old; maybe in those days the schools were administered by other people, maybe they did pay the salaries, I only know what happens these days.
You might also write that Lopburi is full of schools and that a good idea - for someone trying to find a job here - would probably be to walk from school to school and leave to each of them their CVs, diploma transcripts etc.
